How do I delete my LibraryBook Owner account?

You can request account deletion in two ways:

  1. Via email:

    • Subject: "Account Deletion Request"

    • Include your registered phone number and library name (if applicable)

  2. Via app:

    • Open the LibraryBook Owner app

    • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete Account

    • Follow the on-screen instructions

    • Note: Account deletion requires admin verification

What happens when I delete my account?

When you request account deletion:

  • Your account will be deactivated

  • All your personal information will be deleted

  • All library information and settings will be removed

  • Booking history will be deleted

  • Financial information (bank details) will be removed

  • Profile photos and documents will be deleted

  • You will lose access to all your data permanently

How long does account deletion take?

  • Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days

  • Your data is retained for 30 days after the deletion request (for recovery purposes)

  • After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted from our systems

  • Certain data may be retained longer if required by law (financial records, legal compliance)

Can I recover my account after deletion?

No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account and data are deleted, they cannot be recovered.

Do I need to do anything before deleting my account?

Yes. Before requesting account deletion:

  • Complete all pending bookings

  • Clear all settlement dues

  • Ensure all active student bookings are completed

  • Resolve any outstanding disputes or issues

What data is kept after deletion?

  • Certain data may be retained if required by law (financial transaction records, legal compliance)

  • Anonymized analytics data (if any) may be retained for business purposes

  • Data shared with third-party services (Firebase, Razorpay) will be handled according to their policies

What data gets deleted?

The following data will be permanently deleted:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)

  • Library information and settings

  • Booking history

  • Financial information (bank account details)

  • Profile photos and documents

  • All associated library data

  • Usage and analytics data

How do I contact support for account deletion?

  • Subject: "Account Deletion Request"

  • Include your registered phone number and library name


What if I have pending settlements?

You must clear all settlement dues before your account can be deleted. Final settlements will be processed according to the regular settlement schedule before account deletion is completed.

What if I have pending bookings?

You cannot delete your account while you have active bookings. You must:

  • Wait until all active student bookings expire

  • Complete all services

  • Ensure all bookings are resolved before requesting account deletion

Can I delete some data without deleting my account?

Currently, you can:

  • Edit and update your profile information via app settings

  • Update library details

  • Change contact information

However, there is no feature to selectively delete specific data types without deleting the entire account. If you want to remove specific data, you would need to update it manually or delete your account.


What if I change my mind after requesting deletion?

If you change your mind within the 30-day retention period, contact support immediately at support@librarybook.in with the subject "Cancel Account Deletion Request" and include your registered phone number. We may be able to restore your account if the deletion has not been processed yet.

Is my data secure during the deletion process?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS protocols and stored securely on Firebase servers. During the 30-day retention period, your data remains protected with the same security measures.


Can I transfer my account to someone else?

No. Account transfer is not supported. Each account is tied to the registered owner's phone number and identity verification documents (PAN, Aadhaar). If you want someone else to manage a library, they need to create their own account.


What happens to my library listing?

When your account is deleted:

  • Your library listing will be removed from the platform immediately

  • Students will no longer be able to see or book your library

  • All library information will be permanently deleted


Do I need to delete my account from third-party services separately?

Yes. If you used Google Sign-In or Facebook Sign-In, you may need to:

  • Revoke app access from your Google account settings

  • Revoke app access from your Facebook account settings

However, your data in LibraryBook Owner will still be deleted according to our process.
